Default 92 civic 215k...

ok i got a stock 1992 civic vx it's been great to me and i want to be great to it.

I'm trying to get the car back into show room condition since i don't have tons of money i would like to at least make it look and run great.

The motors got 215k on it. It get 45mpg with the mods i've done.

Motor
it's got the stock motor with 160+ psi every cyl
changed timing belt 30k ago with alt belt also
water pump was also changed

I added a new radiator aluminum fluidyne with fal fan
got a short ram intake
Changed clutch to a exedy stock replacement
exaust piping was changed out due to a leak and muffler.

Beyond that it's normal ware and tare i will post pics next week.

Thing i know that need replaced...

Rust on back panels
there's also the peeling flakes right below the window it looks like it's a weather strip of some sort.

Also right on the back side of the window there's a black panel i need to replace on the drivers side from where some one tried to break in at.

I know
suspension need to be check and most likely replaced also maybe bushings.

Now since that my car has that many miles and is still in good running condition what do i need to start considering to replace to keep in running condition?

Also where is a good company to get replacement parts at i'm trying to keep as stock as possible i don't mind simple upgrades.

next mods:
rear hatch struts
window strip on the out side of the window that flakes?? i have no idea what it's called
driver side window panel on rear of window.
suspension and maybe bushing if now to expensive.

I know if it's not broke don't fix it but i really need to know what to be checking on a car this old.

Any idea's would be appreciated!!!

The peeling weatherstrip is called the "belt molding" and the part behind the window is called the "sash molding" (I'm pretty sure). Both are cheap from Honda direct and easy to replace. Nice job keeping the car up BTW

If your compression checks out fine, dont worry about the engine. Just fix the cosmetic items. Dont worry about the mileage. If you treated the car right, it will run for a long time from now.

Why the giant aluminum radiator and fal fan? I cant imagine you had cooling issues. You might have lost MPG if the engine isn't running at operating temp..or is having trouble maintaining operating temp.

lol when you sell that fal fan, you'll probably sell it as a "never been turned on" item.

You can either do QUALITY, NAME BRAND lowering springs of your choice and drop on either stock shocks or some slightly upgraded shocks.

Or you can do the proven time and time again Koni/GC setup.

All depends on what you wanna do, and what you consider to be "expensive".

A full coilover is not nessacary...and they are usually geared more towards racing than street driving.
