Default 6thgen issues

can someone assist me with my struggle to drive my car again.

99 accord dx:i/e, plugs,plug wires,msd cap & rotor walbro pump.

the car starts fine runs ok then once i accel and get to 2500rpms the car's whole engine sound changes as if the car is struggling for fuel or somethin and once i come to a stop 8 outa 10 times it ll die!
NO CEL either

PLZ any help is highly apprec.

check your ignition coil and the ICM

ok could u explain y i would need to check my ignitor coil.? and wut is a ICM???

breaking up at high RPMs is foten an ignition problem. if you've replaced the cap rotor and wires then that only leaves two things: the coil and the ICM ignition control module. it's a small electronics module inside the distributor

This sounds like a real probability. I had a car with a bad coil that would cut out like someone had flipped a switch when it hit a particular RPM. I borrowed a coil to test it and the problem disappeared. A new coil and it was good to go.

I am not sure if there is a good test in the factory manual for the coil. Do you know the resistance that the coil should test at?

Anyway, I agree that this is one of the "usual suspects" to check out.

ok now just to add when i checked my cap<msd extreme cap and rotor> 3 of the four towers almost look like they taken some serious wear considerin the one left clean and brass had little to no wear it seems, would an external coil help?!
