Yeah, they always tell you it's "low mileage". Plus, gimme a brand new one for a weekend and I'll kill the clutch by Monday. In other words, just because it "supposedly" 30-40k doesn't mean that the clutch, or lots of parts for that matter, are in working order.
Please do a timing belt for you and your motors sake.

Why do people suggest the hardest things for such easy fixes?
Please note what the original poster said"will not go into gear while running." Not that he cant find a gear, cant shift gears, slop in the shifter. First step is to check hydraulics. If the master is good, slave is good, give the system a good bleed, again. More and likely during the swap the fluid wasnt touched so I highly doubt thats it. If it worked before, then it should have worked after. Last step would be to check the clutch. It was probally broke to begin with. Checked it before installing the motor?
To JDMkid: please leave the diagnosis to people that can actually can help.

THAT SUCKS DUDE. IM NOT A CERTIFIED MECHANIC BUT WHEN THAT HAPPENED TO ME IT WAS BECAUSE MY SHIFT LINKAGE GOT SLIGHTLY MANGLED AND WAS STUCK IN PLACE. IM JUST TRYING TO THROW AN IDEA OUT THERE FOR YOU.
thanks for the ideas guys, but i took off the tranny today and inspected the clutch and it turns out that one of the springs broke in half so yeah solved the problem.
