Default shock absorbers

I am interested in some new shocks. My current ones are a little squeaky in the front when its cold. They seem to react fine to bumps and perform well on the street. I greased the piston on the shock absorber but the squeak comes back. I am wondering if I should invest in some new shocks.

If you guys think I need them, is it possible to purchase new absorbers but keep my current springs? If so, what brand should I look into? I can't spend a whole lot of money, but I want some decent shocks that are adjustable.

What do you guys think?

I would say buy yourself a set of KYB AGX shocks if your going to stick with OEM springs. These shocks/struts are adjustable as well.

I dont have stock springs. As it says in my sig, I have Sprint springs. Can I run those KYB AGX shocks with the aftermarket springs?

AGX is for aftermarket

GR-2's are the OEM replacements

Sorry never heard of a sprint kit before. I though it was some new sprint car style body kit or something. Did the kit come with the shocks that you are using now?

To answer your question yes the AGX's will work. But FYI I have heard that anything more than a 1.5" drop and the AGX warranty is void????

Try greasing the swaybar bushings... It should go away. I had the same problem and went away. White lithium grease. Something like that....

Sprint shocks are pretty popular. http://www.sprintspring.com/ I bought the car used with the Sprint shocks and springs.

Is there a sway bar in the front? I know about the rear, but I didnt think I had one in the front. Is it underneath the car, because I don't have one under my hood like this one http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ZWDVW

Thanks guys.

Also, I have seen some strut bar packages with 3 pieces to them. Upper tower brace, lower tower brace, and a stablizer bar. I have never seen 3 bars under a hood, only one going all the way across. What are the other pieces for?

ok ok. A swaybar is standard on all 6th gens. So you do have a front and rear. A swaybar runs across from the lower suspension arm to the other. These are located under the car. AKA Stabilizer bar.

The strut bars as it is obviously called, goes on top of the strut/shocks. They prevent body twisting or any stress under cornering.

A tiebar usually goes under the car also. Next to the swaybar. Tie bars strengten the lower frame. Not much use for driving.

The ebay packages include a front and rear STRUT BAR and a lower rear tie end bar.
