does anyone know how low you can go on your oil without messing something up? I discovered my oil filter was very loose this morning after i got to work and when i checked my oil i was like 2-3 quarts low! anyone know if i can jus put some oil back in or should i just get an oil change asap? thanx all help appreciated

 

Get some oil in there asap. Did the oil light come on?

 

I'de get some oil in there as soon as you can. Then change the oil and put a new filter on as soon as you can. That's just me though. I like to make sure everything is ok, and it's not that much for oil and a filter to make sure your car is safe.

 

yeah thats how i feel too! im gonna do that. this sucks tho, lol cuz im due for an oil change but yet i jus had to put some new oil in to get from work to changing my oil! this is like jus stupid, ha

 

Just make sure to fix that problem and fill the oil back up. If its still fine driving around than you should be ok.

 

was your last oil change done at a dealership??

I work at honda and we mostly hand tighten the filters on but ive never had one come off...so if it was a dealer just go there and i think they'll redo the whole thing for free.

 

edit:

i would just get an oil change and find an oil that wont burn as fast as what you put in last time
