Can compression test number be off due to very hot weather?
My engine hits 300+ psi in all cylinders (12:1). In the Northeast weather has been very hot and humid (102F). I had my car out for an hour and it felt really sluggish has to be becaue of the weather. I did a compression test and I hit 300 (cylinder 4) 300 (cylinder 3) 290 (cylinder 2) 295 (cylinder 1) I did a compression test about 2 weeks ago and I was 300 across the board. Any opinions
thanx sgt. I just like to stay on top of motor and make sure everything is ok. Do you think it could be cause of the weather?
I just get a bit concerned, when 2 weeks ago it was 300 psi across the board. And today its 290 and 295 two cylinders. If the rings were to go, then that variance would have been much more? Sorry to ramble, I just wasnt expecting 2 cylinders to be low.

if the rings were to go, yes, expect a much more noticeable variance,
something like 300/300/180/300 <--- cyl 3 has a problem
if your self testing expect a little changing in the number.. nothing too serious as long as you know you are properly taking the readings.
