92 accord windsheild wiper switch
Hey guys, anyone know what this could be:
Windsheild wipers work when depressing lever (not motor)
Switch to Hi or Lo - doesnt work
Switch in between hi and lo setting - eventually comes on after several minutes
Could this be the switch itself or something electrical?
Suggestions appreciated before i buy a switch and have to take off the steering wheel. thanks bros

Sounds like the switch is bad; it is possible to remove the switch and then take it apart carefully / clean the contacts and re-tension the spring that pushes the contact slider.
you can remove the switch without disarming the airbag, and disconnecting the battery will not disarm the airbag either, but you can service the switch without doing that. just be careful and make sure not to disconnect the air bag while doing the switch. if you need further help just ask and I'll post a step by step with pics
I think i need extra help. You're saying I can take the switch out without removing the steering wheel at all? Or just without disconnecting the airbag? I found instructions how to remove the steering wheel on Autozone.com. Not really sure what to do from the there. The car failed inspection for this so now I HAVE to fix it. Otherwise i'd just throw some rainX on there. Thanks.

Go dash diving on the drivers side with your #2 phillips screwdriver
Remove the steering column shroud.
Then you will be able to tilt the wheel and get the top shroud cover off.
in my first post I stated "it is possible to remove the switch"
Next you'll find 2 screws that hold the switch into the mounting bracket,[might have to turn the steering wheel to get to the screw] and also if I remember right there is a plastic tab on the back of the mounting bracket, that goes into the switch housing.
You don't have to mess around with the Airbag system at all.

SUCCESSFUL FIX
I took apart the housing and pulled the switch. Took it apart, cleaned the contacts good. Put it back together and it works. Thanks to those who posted. BIG FIX!
