There is a special paint stripper that is made for plastics. Its kind of expensive but really works. I used it a couple times at my old job.

why do you wanna strip the paint? not being smart. whats wrong with the paint on there i guess is a better question? if the factory paint is still on there and isnt cracking, peeling or whatever, that is the best thing to paint to. plastics are a pain in the a$$.

You could try acetone. Although, I'm not sure what it would do to the pleather. Be a guinea pig! Jk. Try some vinyl cleaner.

theres like 5 runs on my front bumper that have been painted over in different colors and i want to just remove it down to the ecoat to repaint from a fresh surface.

u think laquer thinner will effect pleather? I was thinking to do it really quickly so it wont go very deep. what about liquid clay bar from turtle wax? that might work.

any othr input please chime in

If your refinishing the bumper just sand it down then prime, and paint it or seal, and paint.

im refinishing it, but theres so many different colors underneath and painted over runs, that it would be easier to just epoxy primer it, seal then paint
