so i put a new starter in and it still wont start. but the solenoid wire tests bright until you try to start it then it dims with test light, will push start but getting old.

 

Can you give some more symptoms that don't solely revolve around a test light? perhaps whats it's doing, sounds like etc. when you turn the key?

What shape is your battery in?

Alternator?

what was it doing before you replaced the starter?

 

this has been going on for 6 months ,sometimes will start with key , usually not just roll start when using key no clicking at starter alt, bat fine,same thing with old starter. didnt think it was starter but 180 $ later i need help!
