Default GSR Distributor help needed!

Ok so I've narrowed my problems down to my car having a bad distributor. Car has been running like ****...... Backfiring/Misfiring, Bogging, Stuttering. I've replaced the coil, spark plugs, wires. I think its the ICM inside the distributor. Is their a write up on how to convert a obd2 dizzy to fit my obd1 gsr? Also B16 OBD1 dizzy's will fit my gsr direct bolt on ? what routes can i take, finding a obd1 gsr is a pain in the ***

Thanks ,

Jimmy

To convert, buy the conversion harness, I know one exists becuase I just removed my friends OBD2 Dizzy on his EG, and stuck it on my car and it had a 2 connector harness on it that went to the single OBD2 plug.

yeah i looked up that msd sells the conversion harness for 30 and a DIY write up someone had, but for a obd1 dizzy to a obd2 harness. so a b16 obd2 or obd1 will fit though correct?

ah, ok so really b16/gsr's dizzy's are interchangeable besides when using a obd2 dizzy on a obd1 motor/harness you need a conversion harness

well took a look at my distributor , i think the cap and rotor is the problem, but could it possibly be my o2 sensor causing the bogging? their is like black silt coming from my exhaust it seems. Their is no CEL though, bogging is horrible in all gears

MSD is garbage on our cars. Stick with OEM for ignition

I had no issue with my 6A and Blaster SS until I tried to spark E85 at around 15psi, I never gapped the plugs down, just pulled the stuff and stuck the OEM back on. MSD is a hit or miss with Honda's, I know people locally making 700 in a Civic with a 6A/SS setup. If you are going to buy MSD for your car, buy the Digital6, its worth the extra money and is not garbage, but pointless on a stock or slightly modded car.
