any help would be appreciated

If you're careful and wrap the pry bar with a rag or something, you can pry the tire off by deflating it, then prying the tire in a circular motion until it's off....careful or you'll scratch, dent, etc the rims. Or you pay the extra cash, the tire shop pops it off in a couple minutes, and if its damaged they buy you new rims
Let the shop do it. If they charge you more than $10 you need to find a new tire shop.
It's ludicrous that you're trying to cut corners and dismount tires yourself.
EDIT: on second thought, if you're that concerned with saving $10, take a screwdriver and take the tires off. I hope you like fucked up wheels.

There's a reason they paid 10 grand for a low profile tire machine.
And it's not because somebody can do it easily in their garage.
