Im having problems with my foot control on my 180sd..heeeelp
the problem is i have no control of the amperage. what ever amp i have it set at is the amp i get. even the slightest engagement of the pedal would give me the maximum amp.
i havent welded in about a week, and i just noticed it today. has anyone encountered this problem? maybe i changed a setting somehow somwhere. i really havent messed with it. been too tired. my machine is still under warranty, but i cant afford the downtime. any suggestion on where to look first?

i'm not familiar with the newer stuff cause our welder is ancient but we were having the same problem with our old school miller....took the pedal apart and it was full of crap, cleaned it up and it was like new...worth a try

I forget what the part is called but if you open the unit up (disconnect power of course) you'll find a blue plastic square shaped coil. I'll bet you that's your problem. It was for me.

ill try cleaning the pedal first. then ill take a look inside the machine. i sure hope its the pedal being dirty. thanks for the suggestions.
Today, I actually found the old part I was referring to. I guess I kept it just in case it died again so I'd know what to order. IM me your email and I'll send you some pics of the part.
i had the same problem with a sincro wave 200. turns out there where two wires in the cord that had pulled apart after time. call miller and get on the phone with a tech guy. you ohm out the plug in certain positions and if it doesn't check out you have to pull the pedal apart and possible get new parts.
it was really simple. all you need is a multimeter.

What happened with mine is as soon as you hit the pedal it went full amps. I don't mean up to whatever setting you were at but the full capacity of the machine. It would instantly blow a hole through the header tubing.
