Default name that part

to bring readers up to speed:

recently i finished putting a sohc f22b non vtec into my cd5, but i haven't had time to drive it yet. until today that is, so i drive it about 15 miles to get used to the new drivetrain setup and to humble the motor and what not.

when i get home though, spark plug #3 is shooting oil out of the top of it. i threw a towel under where the oil was landing, shut the car off and let it cool. later i came back and took off the vc only to find #3 hole filled with oil.

i'm asking for people to name that part because when i went to the honda store they said they're weren't any "lower spark plug tube seals" so i'm trying to find the "formal" name of this part so that i can prevent blowing a decent investment.

and in addition if anyone has 94-95 valve adjustment numbers for an f22bx non vtec that would be lovely.

-oem.

On Majestic Honda's website, it is just called an o-ring. Number 19 in the cylinder head assembly. Goes between the camshaft retainer/rocker shaft supports and the cylinder head.

and there's four of them in one set right? if so i already have those but everyone else was calling them lower tube seals.

i've read through other threads and found my answers. still need those valve adjustments though.

yep, 4. And yes, a lot of people, myself included, call those lower tube seals but if you want to be technical o-ring is the correct term for them

and just to be clear...

#19 O-RING

i have a mechanic that says that i should just change the spark plugs, the distributer, the valve cover and the o-rings. This might set me up to about 200$. am i suppose to be doing this?

definitely a good idea to do that stuff at the same time cause your already there, less labor that you have to do or pay for down the road. i would do it if its within your budget!
