I have a 2000 honda civic.

When checking my spark plugs. I tried to tighten back one
of the spark plugs and i guess it stripped. I can take it out
but it doesn't tighten. I tighten it the best i can. but when
i turn the car on, i heard a knocking sound. And now the
car is not driveable.

Anyone have any suggestiong on how to fix this problem?

 

knocking? uh oh. Did you put back the original plugs?

Yah i put it back on.. the knocking sound made the spark plug come out
since it wasn't tight enough.

 

well that might be a problem...i had the same thing happin to me from ngk plug (thats y i dnt use them ) but i heli coiled it and never had the problem again

did you have to take out the whole head to recoil?

No you dont... If you've never helicoiled anything before, take it to a shop or have someone who know what they are doing to fix it.

 

no i didnt have to but i did for the fact that i kno how to do it and u dnt want aluminumm shavings in ur motor...like "4dohs4mohoes" said if uve never done it take it to someone to do it it shldnt be that much

how much do you think this job will cost? And I will definetly take it to a shop.
Im not experienced enough to do this type of work.

 

I use ngk spark plugs... what do you recommend is better?

 

NGK's will be fine. A shop couldnt charge you more than 1/2 hour to do this job.

 

its juz my prefrence on plugs and yea it shld be that much ....less than a bill
