Default Clutchnet 'Kush-Lok' Clutch

Just got one of these from the UPS man. I decided that my ACT 4-puck would be too extreme for a daily driver. I picked the 4 -puck because I thought it would be the lighest clutch but the full face Kush-Lock is surprisingly even lighter: 1 lb 8 oz vs. 1 lb 12 oz. Both of these clutches are solid hub. The stock clutch is 2 lb 8 oz so the weight saving is not bad.

The Kush-Lok should have better engagement properties than the 4-puck too because it has compressible material betweeen the two friction surfaces so some slippage should be possible.

Will be installing this with a 6.75 lb Comptech aluminum flywheel and ACT Maxx Xtreme pressure plate and ATS final drive in a few weeks so will give a full report then. (The pressure plate weights 9 lbs 12 oz, which is just slightly more than the stock plate. The new clutch/PP/flywheel assembly should be 9 lbs lighter than stock.)

The Kush-lok has a marcel plate in it...it acts similar to the springs in the sprung hub clutche "Marcel is nothing more than the wavy spring portion of the drive plate where the facing is riveted onto it. This wavy portion is designed to allow the pressure plate to squeeze the disc to the fly-wheel and allow all the surfaces to move at the same speed when the disc is finally compressed flat by the pressure plate engagement." info stolen from http://www.mcleodind.com/hints.asp

The Air-lok does not have a marcl plate and is designed for race use only.

When I get a chance I'll bring the clutch disc over for you to take a look at...people that don't understand the Marcel plate give me a funny look and tell me that I'm crazy when they look at the clutch disc.
