wierd da6 jdm headlights
just purchased a 93 ls from a buddy of mine....he had put jdm 1 piece headlights in. i believe he got them from password jdm. here is my question.....one of the fog lights is brighter that the other from close but as soon as you walk away about 30ft they both look the same? this happen to anyone else? i have adjusted the reflectors inside changes....but one is still brighter than the other. it bothers me ....must not have bothered him or he would have fixed it.

Where these new headlights? Just wanted to ask. I purchased a new set of JDM headlights from Japan and the lights were all fine, even the fog lights. No misalignment nor brightness lost. Must be a stained mark on the fog light bulb.
ok just went to the store and got some new bulbs....the ones there were in it were 35w stanleys. all walmart had was 55w sylvania's. so i got those. didnt fix it. i think they are either 2 different headlights just paired together when they were sold. or the reflectors are messed up. i think i am just gotta get some new ones. anyone got any for sale?

the jdm fog light bulbs should be h3 which you can get from autozone, pep boys, kragen, etc...
btw you tried wet sanding the other side headlight? these jdm one piece headlights are old so the plastic surface will be dull looking from the factory clear coat on it. use 1000 girt, 2000 grit, and 3000 grit sand paper in that order with some quality mother's wax.

it's mostly the reflectors and the plastic headlight covers that will make it dull or brighter. I tore apart my one-piece headlight awhile back and using chrome polish, polished the reflector housing and then wet sanded the plastic covers. After I finished one side I noticed how bright it is compared to the untreated side. When I did finish the other side, it looked like I bought brand new headlights. Use a heat gun to soften up the epoxy glue that is to keep the plastic covers on. don't let the heat gun get too close or you will melt the housing too
