Have you put a Y8 on a D15B7/B8?

ive heard that when you put a z6 or y8 head on a b7 its still like 4 deg retard and i mean think about it you put the head on and have to run shorter timingbelt.but ive got a z6 on a b7 and it runs good but is a little slugish out of the hole but it still runs a low 15

It won't be sluggish out of the hole.

Again, just because it works on a ZC, doesn't mean it will work on everything

Diffrent Deck Heights.

Syndacate, do you have any input on this? I'm just looking for a 100% confirmation before I buy a AEM Tru-Time

Lemme re-phrase my question

"On a D15B7/B8 Block, when using a Y8 head, do you need an Adj. Cam gear"

To my understanding a Z6 head is still 2.5 Degrees off, and a Y8 would be 4.5, so you being a little slugish would be because you are 2.5 degrees off time if my on-going hunch is correct.

Mine is a DOG *Missing/stuttering* out of the hole untill Vtec, and then it takes off.

I'm pretty sure you need one, but I'm not positive, which is why I didn't say anything.

As for the dizzy timing, set it with a timing light, and that should fix your launch problems. It shouldn't be doggin it before 4.5k like that.

Thanks for the Honesty Syndacate, too many people jump to conclusions *Things like all Vtec solenoids are the same and crap like that* cost other people money* I'm pretty sure its off as everything else is 100% right after alot of time and money ensuring it all was, Lol.
