I seen many related topics, since i been here on H-T.
From what I've read:
The z6 head flows alot better than the y8. But stock specs, the y8 would yield higher compression.
Correct me if I'm wrong fellas

It is to my understanding that the z6 head flows better, but the y8 intake/exhaust manifolds were better. So I guess if you use z6 with y8 manifolds, it'd be the best of both worlds.

well other than looking @ it from a performance aspect this will basicly be a stock car but im having trouble finding a z6 head and i found a y8 head for about 100bux so i was wondering if it would be possible to use that so can i use the y8 head on the stock z6 block with z6 manifolds i have all the parts from the old z6 head but the cam journals are warped/scared and when torqued down the cam wont turn.

z6 head has better ports stock, but the y8 combustion chamber is of a superior design. y8 cam is better than z6 cam stock vs. stock.
A ported y8 head is the best head between the two, IMO.
z6 combustion chamber has 34.6 cc's, while the y8 head has 32.8 cc's. z6 shortblock, you'll gain almost .4 points or so with the y8 head

what if you have a z6 head thats been ported out on a y8 block with a skunk 2 intake manifold? which would be better y8 IM on a z6 or skunk IM on a z6???

Here's a picture of the Z6 head.
I'll try to get some pics of the Y8 head, but the difference is that the combustion chamber is more "square" shaped. it doesnt have the CIrcle shape like the z6 heads do.
The top and bottom parts of the combustion chamber near the edges of the valves are "filled in" and flushed with the head surface to give it a smaller combustion chamber volume.
