does it really mess up the transmission to drive auto like a manual?
my dads friend has a 88 toyota and he drives it like a manual
my homie b-rad has a eclipse and he drives it like a manual

No its not good for the transmission to shift it like a "manual". Are you 16 or something? Why on Earth would you do that to your mom's car? If it was yours and you paid for it do as you wish. Oh and I think anything in regards to street racing is not tolerated anymore (correct me if I'm wrong thats what I thought since H-T go rid of the kills stories forum) on here.

you guys are all fools - OP: its absolutely GOOD for the transmission. And if you REALLY want the trans to respond well; put it in neutral, foot to the floor and then just drop it into drive. Do this enough and your trans will actually give you rocket power!!

OP: Another way to get rocket power is to get going about 40-50mph and bang it into 1st. You'll be amazed.
