Default GSR outers w/ Portflow inners good enough for CTR cams?

Just need to know if this combo will work fine with CTR cams to stock redline. Everything ive read is about using ITR outers and revving to 9k or higher. Please help. Also, will the stock retainers be just fine?

They should be sufficient. However, for a bit more security, you may want to consider picking up a set of ITR intake springs, and then moving your GS-R intake springs to the exhaust. That, combined with the Port Flow inners, should handle any of the relatively mild to moderate cams.

Well, for the price of ITR outer intake springs and portflow inners, a supertech setup would be more better for the price and probably cheaper.

Hey Padawan. Will ITR intake inners and outers along with the GSR's intake on the exhaust side good enough for these cams? or do you still recommend the portflow inners? Dont want the springs too stiff for accelerated cam wear.

If you swap the GS-R intake springs (inner + outer) the the exhaust side and install ITR springs on the intake side, you will be fine with CTR cams as well as the mild aftermarket cams you mentioned. If you plan to extend the redline significantly, though, I'd still probably opt for the Port Flow inners.

Again, though, the Port Flow inners would be good extra insurance, especially if you plan to increase the rev limit to take advantage of the larger cams.
