Heater not warming up for a LONG time. *searched*
I have a 94. And it takes a really long time for the heat to get hot. About 20 minutes of driving.
Could this have anything to do with my coolant mixture? I think it's mostly water in my radiator because of a leaking issue I had this summer, and I didn't want to keep buying antifreeze for it to just leak out. Now that I have that fixed, I didn't put anymore antifreeze in. Could this be the problem? or does it sound like something else is bad?

i would start at the thermostat.same thing happened to my civic.figured i'd start small and work my way to the heater core but the t-stat was the problem.hth
good luck

yea it happens to me, but a little differently. My car never gets warm. Granted its only 35 degreese out but ill drive it for like 20 minutes and my temp gauge is barley 1/4 the way up, and yea it deffenitly takes a little while for my heat to kick in.
Make sure you don't have a bunch of air in the cooling system.
Usually if your car takes too long to warm up, someone has removed the thermostat, or it is stuck open.
If the heater doesn't work at all, you have air in the lines and possibly a major problem
