proper way to check compression with a compression gauge?
Im having a major brain fart right now..
i just take out the spark plugs at once and then put the compression tester in and crank the engine 3 times and read the pressure correct?

disable fuel and spark. I would take out all spark plugs, can't remember if its required but i think it allows the other cylinders to move without compression. insert gauge into spark plug, and crank about 5 good times. remember that the first crank pressure should be at half the total pressure after 5 cranks.

so just pull the fuel pump fuse or what. wouldn't that be bad though.. no lubrication?

Run your engine for a few minutes to get the engine temp up and the oil flowing through it. You won't get true readings if your engine is cold and dry. Pull the back-up fuse to kill your ignition and fuel then proceed with your test. Make sure you hold the throttle wide open during the 5 cranks to allow for maximum air flow into the engine.
