odd question: does anybody know if 1jz (jdm motor) and 2jz motor are the same?
i know a ton of parts are interchangeable, including the cylinder head....but not sure if the head flange is the same. anybody know by chance? dont have time to dig around on the other forums at the moment, if nobody knows i guess i'll have to lol
head flange is different, both exh and intake. i can cut the exhaust mani flange if need be (just finished my manifold). i thought the cylinder heads were not the same.... they require some machining to do the 1.5jz swap. if you really want to get into it, check out supraforums.com. good luck!!
damn of course nothing is easy lol
thanks. im going to do some digging around on other options once i have a bit more time. trying to do 20 things at once right now!

ignitian system, transsmission (in some cases), exhaust manifold and intake manifold. n/a has higher compression. any n/a thats pre 98 has a beefy bottom end. you can produce similar power numbers compared to the gte with a 2mm head gasket and some studs.
and they are dirt cheap.

A little off ....
They have a different cylinder head and its the VVT-i motor with the weaker connecting rods mean while the non VVT-i have the same rods as the GTE engine.
They also come with a W58 transmission not close to the same strength as a V160 6 speed in the twin turbo cars .
