b16a obd1 engine harness? (noob question)
i searched everywhere on honda-tech and didn't find what i was looking for.
i'm planning on swapping a complete obd1 b16a into my 1997 EJ6.
my question is should i swap out my engine harness with the one given in the complete swap. my plans later are to run either crome or hondata s200.

No you can't.
You must use the 1997 harness and either rewire injectors, distributor, alternator, or buy them all for an OBD2 B series engine.
Then in order to run the OBD1 ECU you'll need a jumper harness at the ECU.

i see. would you recomend purchasing a obd2 b16a instead.

i'd rather save up money and get an obd2 gsr motor...b16s aren't that fun...they are, but not really...ahahhaha...run an obd2 motor in your car, easier and less wiring to rearrange there...i have an obd1 b16a in my hatch, had to cut and splice wires...would've been easier with the correct year...pretty much...
You could get a 99-00 Civic Si B16A2, but you'd still need a jumper harness to run it's OBD2B ECU, or again run a OBD1 jumper with P28. The advantage here would be newer, lower miles, and no need to change/rewire injectors, alternator, etc.
...or if you could fine the ultra rare 1996-1997 Del Sol VTEC B16A2 - yes it is an A2 no matter what anyone else says - then it'd be even easier due to the ECU plugging right in with it being OBD2A.
