I never measured, but if you bought D17 rods and the requisite aftermarket pistons it works just fine.
Crower lists the length of their rod on the website, you'd have to measure the stocker and just compare.

Yea both d17a1 and d17a2 rod length is 5.511"

From crowers site they say 5.394 not 3.393 probably typo on your behalf

You have to notch the block. The tops of the rod caps will hit the sides of the crank case if you dont. Post the part number of the rods you got.

you can see in there where material was removed for clearance

Just put the motor together. Only D17 rods fit a D17 crank journal. All of us are running wisecos on crowers, the motors make tons of power and dont break.

The bottom ends dont break. They make SOOOOOOO much power that the headgasket cant hold it.

if they're a hair shorter, what issue would it cause? The pistons need to be below the deck, which they will be. Worst comes to worse, the compression is a hair lower that what the pistons are stated to be. Stroke is dictated by the crank throw, and you need to tune it afterwards anyways.
Just put the damn thing together and stop thinking about it.
It doesnt really help that you're going off what a shop is telling you, and you havent told us where the measurements are being taken from.
You'd have a big problem if they were longer. But this does nothing to effect anything of consequence. If you're so worried.... do yourself a big favor, get off the message boards, pick up a phone and CALL CROWER

Shorter rods = less compression. If u are going to turbo then it should be fine. If it is an n/a build then u should use high compression pistons if they are available.
