Default Zipping sound when clutch engages ?

most of the time when i go from stop to go going up hill i hear a zipping sound or some kinda whining for a second, the car is in motion when it does this. It does it going into second gear too mostly if i press the gas pedal too much? Is this normal or is it a sign that my clutch is going out?

Thanks

does it take longer than usual to start accelerating when you are shifting into gear?? do the RPMs go up with no movement?? if so then yes, your clutch is shot and that would be the sound of it slipping.

my buddy had that same sound on his horizon once and it ended up being that his throw-out bearing was going bad on him. and if thats not it the yes your clutch could be going bad.

Well i have not had any exp of any RPM changes or acceleration changes.

Tho when i am in neutral the clutch does make a strange winding sound when the clutch is engaged and goes away when i push in the pedal.

its either your throwout bearing or your input shaft bearing - but since you just mentioned that the sound is there when the clutch is engaged but goes away when you push the pedal in, its more than likely your input shaft bearing..ive gone through 2 trans this year on my d16y8 and both times it was the same exact thing you are describing...time to buy a new trans unless you have the time to tear your trans apart and replace the bearing

Worst? It will begin to leak fluid, then overheat, then crack.

May bust up the flywheel, axles, and all associated parts
