I concur with this statement, me personaly i love the b-series im pretty fond of my b16a2, so u can try going with a b-series, now an h22 will get u more power obviously, but the tranny's suck, so if u wana go with an h22 i would go with an h2b setup its slightly more expensive buy well worth it from wat ive seen.

I personally have not owned an h-series, like I said im b-series kinda guy, but i have plenty friends with h22 in their hatch, and they kill those h-trannys, (thats y i say that they suck, no offense to u, i mean to each his own, if u like em more power to ya, thats just wat ive personally seen), most of em have gone over to the h2b setup and love it...

haha, the phrase is age old question not old age question.
It depends on what your chassis is too, its easiest to work with the motor that comes in the car. You sig says you have gsr, i would see no reason to go with any other motor. if its only a gsr shell i would put another gsr or an ls motor in there, in other words stay b-series. The H22 is nice but it would be a lot more work then the b-series.

teamFUSION? like fuzion auto in havertown? different spelling though, but i figured since your on tristate tuners

riiiight ..... because a 400whp, fully built turbo-d for under $2k is junk.... not to mention the superior torque curve over ANY b-series.... GTFO

^^kinda sarcastic, but i truely do like the D better. B series arent bad if you can afford them. And yes, B series are much better for just bolt-ons.

under 2K? for a built motor and turbo kit? and its better than any b-series? those are some pretty outrageous claims

A simple answer to your question is the B series. As everyone is trying to say here, a B series will be your best bet for the swap and basic bolt-ons.

Kind of sarcastic? lol Thats VERY sarcastic. Any D series guy should know the cost of having a reliable 400whp sohc on a good setup. Superior torque curve? lol

D series can be made something, but most people would rather not build a motor thats worth a fraction of the build. Not to mention it takes much more effort to push bigger numbers in the sohc.

If it were me an it was a smaller car, like a hatch, I'd pick up a b18b with a b16 transmission and an ls 5th. Its not much to have a gear swapped once the transmission is out of the car. Cheap reliable power. VTEC is nice though, but on a daily basis the b18 is a lot of fun.

B series= Honda's version of a 350 Chevy. They made a million of them and take well to mods. But if you want more than 110-115 ft lb of torque, go with an H22. I think they start at 150+ ft lbs. Granted they don't spin to 8k, but torque is nice.

Well, a stock H22 has as much tq/hp as an entry level turbo or super kit(7 psi) for a D or B series would generate, if that helps at all.

to start out with? well if its your first car, then stick with stock or get a car already swapped assuming the person has never done or is capable of doing a swap. get a standard integra for 1500, tune up, i/h/e..
