is it safe to put the R on the Jack stands for months?
My caR is storaged right now and it's on jack stands..
3 sides were fine by themselves but i had to use a book to level all four
(hopefully evenly)
and my question is ~ is it safe to put the car on jack stands for 6 months?
Im curious if it will bend the chassis or damage somethin.
thanks!

If you change the sides and the positions it will help distribute some weight in the stance of the sitting object.
As long as the car is level there shouldn't be any problems. Did you put it on jack strands to prevent the tires from flat spotting? This can be avoided by over inflating the tires, and/or rolling the car forward etc. *Much easier than than the proposed jack stand solution.

I have heard horrer stories of cars being left on jack stands for long periods of time, where the frame slightly changed. I was in the same boat before I left for japan, and decided to just put the car on crappy tires and hope for minimal flat spots
i see..
also, is there expiry date for tires?
i know there isnt but i mean as in like maximum how many years
to be safe~ ect
because i have 2 sets of rims and both sets have pretty new tires on em...
(like 80% left)
and i cant possibly wear both of them out fast enough just by street driving 4 months a year..
or is it ok to leave tires for 3~4 years?
thanks

Tires can age, especially depending on environment. Heat is a lot worse for tires than cold, and can cause cracking. They'll last 7-10 years according to the experts. If they're not overly exposed to heat, maybe longer.
Tires don't flat spot. I've stored my car on its tires (no jackstands, no carpet, normal inflation) for six months at a time. The tires feel lumpy when I first start out at the end of that period, but they're normal by the time I've driven a block or two. The only thing special I do is keep an automatic charger on the battery.

What the hell are you talking about?
Jackstands is actually the suggested method of extended storage according to at least some of the tire manufacturers and Honda. The S2000 owners manual specifically says to use Jack Stands and I'm too lazy to go check my Integra owners manual (especially since I'd have to find it first
).
As for "bending the frame" (which btw Integras don't have a "frame"), I just took a car off jack stands after 5 years and it's not bent at all.

I've heard claims both ways.
I've heard claims both ways.
i've had multiple cars sit on stands for well over 6 months and never had an issue with this mythical frame bending..
if anything, the suspension sitting at full droop for that long would probably be more likely to harm something..
my race car sits on the ground on its wheels and tires (granted, a less nice set of tires) in the same spot for 3-4 months or more at a time.. never had an issue with the R (flatspotting or otherwise).. the CRX is sitting the same way..

</TD></TR></TABLE>Addition to this, tires storage life is greatly improve if you keep the tires out off direct sun light or light in general by comletely wrap them in heavy duty trash plastic bags. I have a set of "R" compound tires that I store this way since 1999 and the last time I check the tires(1 month ago), they still look brand new.

I've heard the bushing myth as well, don't buy it either
I don't think it really makes a difference if you store it in a decent environment. If you are storing outdoors I would go with jackstands on some bricks/whatever in a heartbeat, if storing in a normal garage it likely won't matter.
I will say that after 5+ years on Jackstands the SE-R was amazingly free of bugs (except for some ants) and other critters. It was stored outside on dirt as well. Last time I left a car on grass for awhile (6-9 months) it had all sorts of lovable creatures living in it..
Oh and the SE-R has no weird bushing wear or cracks or anything else either.

What's the point in that? Ya might as well leave it on the floor...
Jack stands under the body, tires off, suspension should not be at full hang. chock up the sus so it's a little compressed ( about an inch or two.)

Sure does especially in bad eather
Anything above 80 and it's un-nerving!
But they will stay on for a while,,, til they wear out. No money to replace them
