93 accord.. head gasket problem?
Heres what i know. It pushes coolant back into the overfill tank. It doesn't blow any smoke. there is no oil in coolant or coolant in oil. and it seems like in the cold weather the temp gauge goes up about 3/4 of the way to the red line. turn the heat on and it will go down eventually. Driving the car stay down to about 1/4 way mark on temp gauge but once i come to a stop she goes right back up. Head gasket or thermostat? thanks guys
u might wanna try changing you're thermostat first then go from there on also check you're oil dipstick to see with u have any water in it if u do it will look like chocolate milk that will indicate that you're head gasket is in need of changing
drove the car locally today and i checked coolant level. was a little low so i added coolant and ran car without radiator cap on. the coolant bubbled to top in a foam form. I am almost certain the head gasket is on its way out. I have plans to put a new head gasket , water pump, timing belt, thermostat in on friday at my shop. I just hope it last until than. The temp did go about 3/4 of the way up again and when i turned the heat all the way up and started moving a bit faster it went back down. This thing is making me nervous. I just got rid of my 93 civic coupe and ripped the built turbo motor out of it to put in my 98 DX and now this.
fixed.. head gasket, thermostat, timing belt, water pump, balancer belt, valve cover gasket, cap, rotor, plugs, wires, exhaust manifold gasket and intake mani gasket. what a project.
