Default built c5 wont start.

a few days ago i go in to the garage to start the coupe so it can warm up while i get ready and it just doesn't want to stay started, it will turn over and idle for 5-10 seconds then die, This happens about 6 or 7 times. im not getting a CEL and the s200 led is solid. i pull the ecu and set it inside to look at later.
I take the beater instead and when i get home i try again, it is still not starting at all now so i pump the gas a little and lo and behold it starts. i let the car idle for a min or two.
i kill it and start it again and its fine, cold idling no cel.. perfect. i walk down the driveway to get the trash and it almost sounds like the car starts to miss and hiccup and it has a very bad idle. i get back to the car and its thrown a code so i kill it
This happens a few more times until i get annoyed and go inside for the night.
the next morning i start my hunt and start with my interface cable, i get that fixed and the cel now goes away and the car runs for most of the day until i get gas. I fill up at shell with 93 and not but 3 min down the road while driving the CEL comes on and the car starts to hiccup, i have no throttle response and the car does not want to go more than 40 or 45 mph so i rush it home stopping every 2 min. and now the car is back to not wanting to turn over but it will crank.
At this point i am getting fuel and spark.
I have tried 3 diff ecu's, checked all fuses and main relay.
Id like sum opinions and routes for me to go with this. electronic issues make me wanna

this is a slow moving forum , waiting 25 min before bumping is a little impatient even though im sure your trying to figure out the problem feverishly.

Have you tried all the basics? pulled the plugs, check the wires, etc ? not being a dick but you would be suprised how many people dont.

Were you able to see what CEL it was that threw the code?

EDIT: sorry just read you have fuel and spark . . . to me

it might be a bit impatient.
Yes i tried all of the basics.
I only get the cel when i use my p28 with s200, i get nothign when i jump it
a friend f-up my interface cable yesterday so im blamming it on that. any other ecu i get no CEL.

I dont even know what direction to go in now.

well if you tried other ECUs and its not doing anything then i would just leave in the ECU that you started with and then continue to diagnose the problem. in my opinion changing the ECUs in and out while trying to find another underlying problem may just lead to more headaches. Thats just a thought though because im not really sure what else to say.

The one ECU that throws the cel were you able to read what code it threw?

Your positive it has a constant spark? I would check all the sensors make sure all the wires are intact, all vaccuum lines. I am sure you already have done this, im just trying to think as well hmmmm. . . .

That sounds like a short in the tps or the maf sensor/connection/wire.

check your ground wires where they attatch to the thermostat housing. Make sure they have a good clean ground and the bolt holding them down is tight. If this doesn't fix the problem check your distributor cap/rotor and replace if old or questionable. If these check out ok you may want to try a new interface cable.

i do have constant spark to all 4 plugs. all grounds are good.
when i tried to jump the code it did nothing i even had a friend try and nothing, it will have a CEL the hole time with my interface cable issue anyway... but regardless the car should start even with no interface cable via limp mode and what not.
Well looks like i might have to drag the desk top pc out side, as i dont have my usb serial cable right now.

Look expletive the dumb **** do this

1) Stick a screw driver in a spark plug wire having your friend hold it to one of the many nutes by the radiator and see if jumps to make a spark. Narrow it down god damn be smart if ur modding and car and dont know how to figure out if u have spark or not your stupid as ****.

2) Pull your fuel rail and turn the car on, and prime that **** if fuel's comin out, well holy **** you got fuel.. so narrow it down

Do you have fuel?
Do you have spark?

If you have both, check your timing on your gears and crank

If everything checks out , its a ecu or ground problem holy crap, if u can't get your car to start dont mod a car to start with.

And another thing, if your ecu is tuned or chipped, take our ecu apart and check the back of the solidering, makes sure none of that is touching each other, make sure the j1 jumper is clean and not touching anything as well.

and i have fuel also. pump is priming, fuel coming out at the rail ect.
i already ordered a new interface cable, but regardless the car should start without the interface cable plugged in.

i guess ill check the soldering, im losing hope with this p28.

Has it started with any of the ecu's you tried, or does it just not start with the p28. What exactly happened to your serial cable that messed it up, that could of had an effect on the ecu.

think this thing through

i had this kind of problom when i put my b20 in my ek and i did the engine harness and i put it all in and it would idle like **** and you couldnt give it gas and then i was like well i must have mess the harness when i did it soi sent it to rywire got it back same f*ckin thing i was like what the hell. so i pulled the dizzy off and cheacked all the wiring and one little wire came out of the dizzy fixed that and it ran like new but was missing but if i wiggled the jumper harness obd2a to obd1 is so gay lolol but one of the pins for the number one injector out so i put it in and made sure it didnt mess up (cuz i turbod it to and it would lean out the number one byebye motor). but check them i dont know if you got a jumper but its worth a wiggle.

yes i do have a jumper, its an em1 converted to obd1. and on the interface cable over time a few of the wires have been pulled out and had to be re pinned and now a friend messed it up beyond repair so i have a new one on the way.
It whould not start with my p28, with or without hondata. a virgin p28 whould not start it neither whould an obd1 jdm itr ecu.
I just took of the valve cover and timing is all the same, i just had it off not even a week ago.
I guess i will take the dizzy apart and check in to the jumper.

Could bad gas/low occtane be at fault? i know for a fact the car has refused to start on 87 before.

not likely a gas problem, its idling, it'll start.
any other things u've done, whats the update so far.. its probably the ecu from what i'm gathering, probably chipped wrong.

I had it towed to a local shop and checked sum things out and the fuel that whould get on the plugs from trying to start it whould not even light . like i said i drained it and its way way to clear. the car started with all the injectors disconnected and then i plugged them in one by one. it idled fine for about 45 min then started to sputter like in the first post. and as soon as the car gets cold again it wont start..the ecu has worked fine for over 2 years, and it just strted and ran on that same ecu last night. the shop and do i think the gas is to blame.

it could be your fuel but you also could have injector issues. i rebuilt a motor and put the stock head back on with the same older injectors and found that 2 of my injectors were stuck open causing the motor to get flooded everytime i would try to start it and it would foul the plugs. just my .02
