Can i get the primer off to original paint?
Take sandpaper, 400 grit would be alright, and sand away on a spot until you get through the primer. Be sure to keep the surface wet as you sand it. It would be a lot of work to sand off all the primer, but I'd give it a shot.

seems to me that the original owner was probably going to to have it repainted, thus using primer before the paint. this means 2 things. the paint on the bottom was messed up, faded so they wanted reshoot it, 2nd, maybe the hood is a different color, so they wanted to paint it to match the car? so if you do this, and you get a red, or yellow hood then what? you'er gonna end up primering it again? lol
