engine running like crap after swap attempt
k, so I was supposed to sawp a new motor into my car this weekend but had to abandon the project after some of my help had bailed out on me. So the motor was ready for removal and chained up before I called it quits and started putting everything back together. Now after replacing everthing I had removed prior there werent any extra bolts so I know I didnt miss anything in that dept. All connectors went back to the right locations.
so heres how it runs... it sounds kinda kinda like a go cart at family fun center, smells pretty exhaust, low idle and will stall sometimes, some black smoke from exhaust. A fair amt of vibration at idle. I took it ona test drive and gave it a few good pulls too and got a couple backfires after releasing it from gear. Before I started this my engine was running real smoothe and normal, considering.
so what am I missing? The only thing that was extra on my floor was a small vac hose, i think it may have been from the evap system..can that make these issues?? Help I have to go to work tomorrow pm. TIA

Have you checked you firing order and rechecked all of your plugs? Just to make sure you don't have something simple like a loose electrical connection. Did you crack your dist. cap when you chained the motor up? Just a few points to check
