Default Engine Knocking>after ECU chipped Kenji

Guys,
I ordered a P28 chipped for my JDM ITR 99, with I/E/H

I got it from Kenji, all ok.

Now that i installed it, it knocks a lot.I took it out and put oem p73 back.

Kenji told me aslong as our gas here is 91 octane it should be ok and not Knock.

I am in Curacao, here they sell "95 unleaded",but a lot of people here think and say that our gas is very bad, not to be compared to any gas in the USA,Europe etc.

I have no doubt about ECU, kenji is the man for this, I think its my fuel, but want to get some opinions ofcourse.

What do you guys recommend , i am at 18 degrees timing, which was ok for this ECU as well.

1> Try this with Racing fuel C112,C117 or 103, Which i can get VP fuel here on island

Regards,

Rishi

C112 and C117 on a stock motor? LOL Try the 103 first, if you still have the knock with that fuel then I don't know what to tell you.

I would set the distributor back to 16* and see if that helps.

Is it doing it all the time, at idle, full throttle or where?

This is the problem with using base maps and not a tune.......... You never know how it is going to act on your motor.

I agree w/ him ^^^^. 16 degrees. Why dont you get a reprogrammable fuel controller like the FC,Hondata, etc. were you can tune for your air quality and gas quality. It would be alot better than a base map from someone thats not there.

Guys,

ECU is perfect upgrade, my pumpgas fuel was old in tank, i drained it, and filled with new pumpgas, all ok never knocked again.

With 103 , ecu works much agressive, again much much power gain.

Regards,

Rishi
