how to diagnose swapped jdm b16
i have a 97 civic w jdm b16. check engine light has been on for a year but whenever i've had a scan tool hooked up it says "cannot connect to blah blah" and doesn't recognize the vehicle. we had to use the obd1-0bd2 conversion harness with the pr3 ecu....now how the hell can i get the codes out of this bitch???
It's a 97 civic and you want to check the codes with a PR3 ? Good luck with that the check engine light on the obd2 can only be checked with a scan tool check your fuses there is a pin that transfers the date to the diagnostics equipment.
actually there is a check connector 2pin blue or geen on pssenger side above ecu on that harness, use a paper clip to jump them, turn key on and you will get flash codes. you would need a obd2 ecu in the car to read with a scan tool set up for the obd2 type connector on vehicle.

I was wondering if anybody else was gonna catch that

You could try to short out the service check connector under the dash on the passenger side. If the OBDII-OBDI conversion was properly made, it should cause the check engine light to flash the code on an OBDI PR3.
