can CTR run w/o vtec solenoid???

Default can CTR run w/o vtec solenoid???

just wandering but my brother just got a civic w/ a ctr motor in it from his friend and the motor doesn't have the vtec solenoid....how does that work? wouldn't the oil leak out? if anyone know anything about this please let me know! thanks guys

Yes, oil will leak out and VTEC won't work

the thing is that the oil doesn't leak??....and i just wanted to know how? i tried looking this up but cant find nothing on it. at first i thought the head might have not been a type r but it. i was gonna ask the guy but he doesn't live around here anymore....any solutions??

What you are probably referring to is that the JDM DOHC vtec motors dont have the Vtec pressure switch, but they do have the solenoid. (the solenoid is the thing that looks like a can)...

yep was looking at it again and looks like he didn't take the whole thing off. he basiclly turned it into a ls motor. running ls tranny, wires are all F'd up, running on pm6 ecu, and he put a 90 ls dizzy on it. man no wonder the car ran like crap......
