Default Cluster light + tail lights + license plate light. need help!

I drive a 98 prelude, the cluster light + parking lights dont come on when i turn on the headlights. and 2 days ago i got pulled over for no taillight/license plate light. (didn't notice) it doesn't seem to be a bulb problem since all of those are night lights and i replaced the tails/license plate ones when i got the car. I checked both fuse boxes, all good and replaced the small light fuse as an extra measure. I was wondering if there's a relay that controls all the night light functions and if anyone has any troubleshooting methods? sorry, i r noob to wiring/electricals.. tackling retrofit soon probably tho

thanks

if you replaced the fuse... and the lights..

the problem could be the switch.

the combination switch that controls the lights could be bad....

but really go and check the wiring first... see if power is going through it..

i'm not too sure if the lights are positive switched or ground switched....

if its positive switched, then at the fuse, there should be power at one of the terminals when switched on, and the other is always a ground.

if its ground switched, then at the fuse, there should always be power at one of the terminals, and a ground when switched on.

if there is no power/ground at one of the terminals when switched on.. my guess is that the combination switch is bad, or the dimmer switch could also be bad.

to test either, your going to need to pop them out and test the leads with a dmm.
