Default 1993 Honda Prelude Vtec is running really shakey, and won't rev over 3500?

I read the archived posts of people's Preludes that won't rev past a certain point, but their's are all over 5500rpm. I've checked the oil pressure, and my mechanic said he fixed my timing belt. It sounds like my cat could be clogged, or has a hole in it. I plan on getting an entirely new setup there. I'm not sure if my injectors are stock, how do I check that. The person I bought it from said they were going to boost it, so do you think they would have put in new injectors? I can't think of anything else it could be. Any Ideas?

Thanks.

I had a horrible problem after I went boosted, doesn't matter for boosted or not though, I forgot to plug my Mass Airflow Sensor in and it had similar symptoms. Check that and maybe try a friends and see if yours is faulty.

Yeah, do you guys have any other ideas on what it could be? The injectors are 440's and the check engine light is always on. Could the intake manifold and throttle body (skunk2 pro) throw off something in the ECU?

Thanks.

very simple really... if you are in limp mode you can't rev. any number of things could cause that. let's get some codes!

I've seen this happen only 2 ways:
1) Bad ecu
2) No MAP signal

Check the wiring for the MAP sensor and make sure all the connections are sound. Then check the ecu ground on the thermostat housing.

Yeah, sorry about the late reply. I got it fixed. There were two things wrong with it.

1. The timing belt was a little off, but not much. Just missing a tooth. It's ok there.
2. (The biggie/main reason) The person I bought the car off of put new injectors on but not the clips. So I had to push it on and reset my ECU. (unplugging battery and touching positive to negative)

So far everything is fine, but the welds on my exhaust piping broke. I haven't been driving it, but can anything happen if I do. Valve problems? (I heard that from a friend)
