Default Aligning my trunk

How do i go about re-aligning my trunk with the rear of my car? There is a gap in between my taillights on the left side. I believe it is allowing water to leak in. Any help would be appreciated. Model is 99 coupe

Your trunk would have to be off by quite a bit for it to be the reason for the leak.

I'd recommend you do a leak test. You'll need two peopel to do it. One stays inside and one outside. Dry the interior off and strip it. The guy inside stays with the seats down looking for a leak with a flashlight. The guy outside pours water over the car (do not use high pressure). Start at the bottom. If it leaks, there's the source. If it doesn't, try a higher place.

Adjustment
NOTE: Before adjusting the trunk lid, loosen each bolt slightly.

1. Adjust the trunk lid hinges right and left, as well as fore and aft, by using the elongated holes.

2. Turn the trunk lid edge cushions, as necessary, to make the trunk lid fit flush with the body at the rear and side edges.

3. Adjust the fit between the trunk lid and the trunk lid opening by moving the striker.

4. After adjustment, tighten each bolt securely.
