Default issues seperating b18c1 tranny

Well, I am trying to seperate my tranny to put in a limited slip differential. the issue I'm having is that I can get the tranny about an inch and a half apart and then it will go no further. I don't want to pry on it because I don't want to mess the transfer case up and it wont seal correctly. all the bolts are out, the shift linkage is off of it... I really don't know what else to do. Anyone got some suggestions as to what may be causing it to be "stuck"? I have to get it done very very soon so any help at all is appreciated.

thanks.

make sure nothing is in its way or something is still connected to it, make sure its level and what i did was tip it a little upwards and just give it some good ol elbow grease dont be afraid its pretty durable

Did you take the snap ring off the end of the mainshaft? If you answer is something like, "What's a mainshaft?" or "What's a snap ring and how do I take it off?" I'm going to assume that you began this project without a Helms manual. From there, I'm going to consider you to be someone who has either too much money or not enough brains to be doing work himself.

Get a manual, search for threads made by Bense and understand what the hell you're doing before you start taking things apart. A transmission isn't like a header. If you lose a part or bend something or misalign the wrong gear, it will never work properly again. Do it right.

Well, I am just going to assume that you (Archidictus) are going to give me no help at all and are just here to be a pain in the ***. All I asked for was suggestions and not what you considered me to be. you don't want to know what I consider you to be from what I've gathered in your previous post. Anyway, if anyone else has some useful information to share with me I would sure appreciate it very much.
