Default Okay, I am desperate, tranny problem, please help.

Man, I just spent the last hour trying to get my tranny housing back together. The tranny housing will lower until it is about 1/2 of an inch all the way around and won't go down any farther. All the shift forks are lined up. The pins in the housings aren't touching yet so I know it isn't them causing it to not go together. What the heck is going on? I can't figure it out.

The clip on the top of the mainshaft is aligned properly too.

I just spent another 1/2 hour on it, it just won't go together!

try to wiggle the shifting shafts with a screwdriver/ this sometimes helps
