Default to chip not to chip

I was debating to send my ecu to phearable to get chipped or not. Can't decide. My motor is stock now with just headers and intake. With the p28. The main reason that I want to get it chipped is to get the check engine light out and its because of my o2 and if I eliminate that I won't have to worry again is that justifiable to getting it chipped? I will be getting it tunned when I get cam, cam gear, internals and a turbo with the hondata s300.

turning off the O2 sensor on a P28, with an untuned chip would be the same as running through a maze blindfolded.
You're going to get hurt.

The ECU uses the O2 to recalibrate how much fuel it puts into the engine, without it you run directly off the maps. Which is fine if the maps and all the calibrations are perfect. If they're not you can damage things fast.

With just intake and exhaust there is no need for a chipped ECU, the stock maps will be better than any untuned chip.
Fix your O2 problem.
