Default Annoying hatch open problem

Car is a 99 hatch. Alright, so somehow the sensor (or whatever controls it) for my hatch is messed up or getting a messed up signal. While I'm driving my trunk light on my instrument cluster flickers on and off sometimes. First of all let me say that there isn't anything wrong with the latch. The hatch is definitely closed when I close it. Now the instrument cluster light isn't the annoying part. My alarm is wired up to this sensor, so every once in a while I'll come running out to my alarm going off because it thinks my hood/hatch is open (my hood pins are wired up to the same thing as the hatch)...So I really need to fix this in order to stop having false alarms. Anyone have any suggestions on where to start?

Cliffs: Sensor for hatch opening is messed up and I need to fix it so that my alarm will stop going off because it thinks my hatch is open.

Just out of curiosity when the alarm was installed, were the Hood and hatch diode isolated from each other. If not may want to have that done, backfeeds can cause strange problems especially if water ever becomes involved. Also it would be a good thing to check and see that the hoodpin is properly adjusted. Other than that I can only suggest a bad switch for the trunk pin.

Actually, now that I go back and look at it, I'm not sure where the hatch sensor is wired to for the alarm...But the hood pins are wired to the instant trunk/hood triggers input...so I'm just assuming that the hatch is wired to that too. But to answer your question...I currently have the hood pin wire pulled off of the hood pin--so there isn't any sensor hooked up for the hood. I also didn't use any diodes for that wiring...The hood pins are just wired straight to that wire I mentioned earlier.
