? about honing in spec but glazed cylinders with new rings
putting together this f22/h23, and installing new piston rings. wondering if i should hone? the cylinder bores are in spec for out of round and taper, so i'm not worried about that. but the cylinders are glazed over, so i want to know your opinions.
and, if i should hone, i need to know your techniques, if you've done it yourselves. i don't want to take it to a shop unless necessary.

thanks. i saw that post, it gave me a bit of an answer, but i'm using an f22 block with iron sleeves, and that is for FRM. i guess it shouldn't make a difference though, the rings DO need to seat correctly.
well i guess i had the assumption that new rings wouldn't seat correctly against glazed walls. i thought the hone pattern was a little bit of a necessity for new rings to seat against.

That's all true, so what's the problem?

I cant say 100% but i was talking to my local snap on guy about dingle hones and he said you could sit there for half an hour and it would remove almost no material. they supposedly have the 60 degree notch so..... it is an option.
its an f22 block. if it were h23, i'd just take it in, because from what i read the frm needs a little bit of special attention. but its just an f22 so i figured it'd be alright
