its a resistor box..and if u gonna keep it obdo yes u need it...if its gonna be obd1 wont need it at all...

o my car is obd1 and i guess the guy who owned the car before me never took it out i always wondered why it was never plug in tnx

Well, if your car is OBD1, you still need the resistor box if the injectors are OBD0.
