Default question about using custom K&N air filter/custom turbo intake tubing -- power losses/gains?

I'm going to be using a garrett t3/t4 .57 trim, .63 A/R on my stock d16y8, I have 95% of my parts to be able to turbo my car, I just have one question(My WHP/WTQ goals are btw: 215/170-ish tuned on crome.):

How much, if any, HP/TQ power losses would one expect to lose from directly connecting a small cone shape K&N filter directly to the turbo inlet port? What about if I attached a custom intake arm (aluminum) on the turbo inlet and then had the filter on that? Would the heat soak from the turbo/manifold/motor affect things greatly enough to warrant adding intake tubing?
