Default Need For Resonator box with jdm type-s intake

I've had my '01 sh for almost 2yrs now. I've done the basics, i/h/e along with a few other mods. Right now I gotta AEM V2 cai but I am thinking about going to a jdm type-s. I took out the resonator box when i put the AEM in but saved it just in case. I was wondering if it would make a difference if I left it out or should I put it back in? Any opinions or advice on the type-s intake would be nice to. Thanks in advance

It would quiet down the intake noise and maybe be a bit more hydrolock resistant, but that's going to be about it.

Hydrolock resistant? Come on, do you really think a puddle of water is going to reach the top of the fender well? If it does, do you think the driver would actually driver into that flood?

The end of the OEM intake arm is not *that* high off the ground. I agree that the danger of sucking up water is pretty remote, but the resonator does move the air intake opening farther up to be about level with the battery, and looks pretty watertight.

So from a performance standpoint it wouldn't make much difference, I guess that's

what I'm really asking. I for sure wanna go with the type-s intake to keep with

a jdm theme that i'm going for but I wud leave out the resonator if it negatively

affects performance. Thanks for the reply.

Definitely not. It's going to be a restriction if anything.

That's what I was thinking but I'll feel it out once I get that intake. Thanks for the info
