Default Research for possible rules revisions

Hey everyone,

Just doing some research for possible rules revisions in 2008...

What is the current naturally aspirated, on pump gas, "record" for Wheel Horse Power out of the different K series engines?

Just trying to figure out what type of power these engines are making on pump gas when tuned out completely....

200whp?
220whp?
more?

Nikolas

I'd start looking around 300whp.

Unless you want to define what pump gas is. Afterall, 104oct and even hire is for sale at the pump...

The H1 national championship winning K24 Integra made:
• 293hp at the hubs in LA on Shawn Church's dyno
• 253hp at the wheels on a chassis dyno during mandatory testing at nationals

It should be noted that this engine combination has been disallowed under the '08 rules. (http://nasaforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=12462)

...and that motor was limited to using only OEM Honda parts too!

So I should assume that it is possible to make close to 300whp out of a K24 engine Naturally Aspirated.....

What about K20 engines? What are they capable of putting out NA?

I think for road race car 300 WHP will be the ceiling for K24. My World Challenge motor makes about 250 WHP on dyno dynamics chassis dyno.

The K20 is around 20 WHP less on the same dyno
