Default Viper Alarm

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/ol...45745

What are your feelings about this alarm system? Are there any unknowns that I need to know for install? My friend works at best buy and can get the system for about 200, how much do you think install will be?

Get the viper 5900. It has better range. Install is going to be based on were you go and how good the install is. You need to get a dei 520t back up battery to go with it too. Look above in the sticky and see if its work that you can do yourself. I would be happy to walk you thru it.

Yes that is the alarm he is talking about, it has the SST Technology which gives you much better range.

And that is the correct back up battery. Although you will wanna get the 520T from best buy or another authorized dealer. It's been rumored that allot of the 520T you find online do not hold a charge very long. Desmon (wrx-killer-Sti-eater) can get you the alarm and/or the 520T if you so desire, he is an authorized dealer.

Make sure you read the sticky at the top of this forum. Lots of important info in there that will answer most of your questions.

I bought the Viper alarm that Best Buy carries for $230ish installed. I bought it from another shop though for $200 installed. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/ol...77516 I'm happy with it.

If your buddy works there, he's getting it at 5% above cost. Price all the alarms! You might be able to get a better deal on another one. I used to get that discount...man I miss it...but not the job.

You can't get the 5900 @ best buy? Did you ask?

You can still get it from him, he will ship it to you and you can install it yourself. Unless you were planing on having it installed at a shop, in which case it's best to get the alarm from that shop. Which ever you chose just make SURE you have a back up battery (DEI 520T).

I got my 5900 from Best Buy.

If you're poor, don't waste your money on remote start. Just get a Viper 350HV.
