Default ls vtec turbo...or type r turbo?

Hey guys, got a quick question for everybody and anybody. I took my gsr motor out of my integra, and I can't decide on what motor to put in. I was gonna build up a itr c5 motor t ohandle a stage 3 full race turbo, but my friends are all telling me to buy an ls block and put my vtec head on it and build that up for turbo since they think it would be better than the itr c5? I don't know now what to do as a couple guys told that they're runnin the c5 how I want and its great but a friend in town is running an ls vtec with turbo and says its much better. What do you guys think?

Whats your budget? Is something wrong with your GSR motor? Get another GSR block or rebuild it if you blew it. Bore it out .20 over and turbo it with strong internals. Thats going to be cheaper than a type r motor + turbo. Work with what you got right now, its going to give you alot more money to build it up.

Theres no sense in building up a C5 when you can get an ls block for waay cheaper. Especially if your going turbo.

skip the ls/vtec

build the motor you have now, it'll be a hell of a lot cheaper than a type r swap then turbo and a hell of alot more reliable than a boosted ls/v

Build either the GSR or an LS/VTEC. Dont tear apart a good ITR block and throw away the internals...that's not an economical choice AND you killed a perfectly good ITR.

The GSR would be and is my choice

I was considering spending clost to 10,000 on the motor when I am all done with it,and I probably will just build up my GSR motor now since its still got lots more life with only 92500 on the motor, just rebuild all internals and what not. Anybody have any favorite distributor on race internals? I was thinking some skunk2 cams and gears and eagle rods and pistons and maybe even crank and rc injector that type of stuff

Glad you decided to stick with the GSR. 10k is gonna get you pretty far good luck.

10 grand? build something for half that and invest the rest of the cash....

5000 in the bank now with compounding interest = more fun down the line with your cash than pissing it away on a motor

Why even put forth the money for an ITR swap if you plan to build it? I think an ITR swap is only ideal for mild setups. Its worth waay too much to be boosting.

i would keep the gsr, get eagle rods, cp pistons, supertech valvetrain,
stock cams, bore/sleeves, upgarade fuel system
get a decent turbo(t3/t61,t3/t67 ) and a good tune you should be good for 500+ whp but you need a GOOD tune

if you wanted more get it sleeved and a bigger turbo
