What oil was it I read about on here that was linked to many turbo failures?

i DID A search to no prevail. I remember about a year or so ago reading about an oil that was said to cause a lot of turbos to fail/seize up.
IIRC it was either AMSOIL or RoyalPurple.
Anyone remember?
Thank you for any help.

ive been using royal purple on my boosted DC5 for over a year now with no problems. the only thing i did need to install was an oil pressure restrictor because the bearings are only rated to 60 psi and my oil pressure gauge was reading over 90 psi at times, and i was getting a little blow-by. but not any more.

The only bad oil for a honda is redline; and that's only in the tranny. It eats up the carrier baskets in the bearings.
As for the motor: I have run nothing but Mobil1 pure;
the engine stays 100% clean, no buildups/deposits; oil has same texture/viscosity "feel" as new oil when changing after ~5k miles
I would say this though: never touch a can of "Engine restore"; blue ****, silver can; like a beer for your car. That **** will make your rod bearings spin; if not soon, it will.

yep... i use redline in my tranny, no problems at all
if you have oil problems the turbo is going to be the last thing you are worried about. if it wont work in a turbo, it wont work in your engine.
